Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols

Once in royal David's city

Sunday, December 23 at 5:00 pm

St. Mark's will again offer a Festival of Christmas Lessons and Carols on December 23 at 5:00 pm. The St. Mark's Choir will sing, and a festive potluck reception follows the liturgy.

Based on the service of King's College Cambridge, the service begins with Advent prophecies of the coming of the Messiah, progressing to the Gospel stories of the Annunciation, the Nativity of Our Lord, the Journey of the Magi, and the presentation of Jesus in the Temple of Jerusalem, culminating with the prologue from St. John's Gospel.

This service is a cherished St. Mark's tradition. A potluck reception of holiday savories and sweets follows the service. Items may be brought to the Parish Hall prior to the service.
