Stewardship & Giving
Members of St. Mark's are encouraged to give of their time, talent, and resources for the benefit of the church, the world, and our lives. Our goal is to be witnesses of proportional giving, understanding that everything we have already belongs to God. Join us as we strive to be a joyful offering to God, the Church, and the world.
This year we are celebrating how it is that God calls us to live generous lives. The Ingathering of Pledge Cards was the last weekend of October, however, if you have not turned in your pledge card, there is still time. Pledge cards may be placed in the offering plates on any Sunday, and extra pledge cards and letters are on the back table of the church. You may download the rector's stewardship letter, the stewardship chair's letter, and pledge card, and you may also pledge online.
The Vestry Stewardship Statement
The Vestry of St. Mark's at their August 2015 meeting adopted the following stewardship statement.
- WE BELIEVE that all of what we have and all of who we are comes from God.
- WE COMMIT ourselves individually and as a vestry to being faithful witnesses of Christ both to our parish 'ohana and to the world.
- WE INVITE you, our fellow parishioners, to join us in deepening our faith together by experiencing the profound joy that comes from thankful giving.
Testimonies of Faith from Fall 2015
During the fall of 2016, these Testimonies of Faith were given to the congregation as part of our stewardship ministry.
Episcopal Church Outreach
We also raise money throughout the year for various outreach organizations. On Ash Wednesday our offering goes to Episcopal Relief and Development. On Good Friday the offering is for the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and the Middle East, and especially for the ministry of St. George's Cathedral, Jerusalem. We also participate in the United Thank Offering every Spring, the major collection sponsored by the Episcopal Church Women.
