The Liturgy of the Hours
The Guild of Saint Benedict is composed of those persons who are dedicated to praying the Liturgy of the Hours, also known as the Daily Office.
In addition to the regular celebration of the mass on Sundays, weekdays, and feast days, the Church throughout the ages has centered each day with psalmody, prayer, praise, and Scripture reading. Members of the Guild seek to pray individually the traditional seven hours of Matins, Lauds, Terce, Sext, None, Vespers, and Compline. The Guild supports one another in this devotion by praying the First Vespers of Sunday and feast days together, and by meeting periodically in small groups for prayer, discussion, and fellowship.
